Session 101

Showers are Seasonal and Scattered. Are Blessings?

Ezek. 34:26, Ecc. 3:1-8

Helen Curtis, Stop Six Church of Christ, Ft. Worth, TX

We've heard of scattered showers when it comes to the weather, but what about our blessings? Are they seasonal? Are they scattered? God has given us blessings and has made them beautiful in His timing.  They come at different times in our lives.  The Ecclesiastes writer reminds us of all those seasonal blessings and confirms the time they are important in our lives.  God wants us to grow spiritually.  This class will enrich your life spiritually and help you to understand the phrase, "He may not come when you want Him, but He's always right on time!"

Session 102

Spiritual and Physical Blessings

Eph. 1:3

Felicia Foster, Lubbock St. Church of Christ, Lufkin, TX

We usually think of blessings as gifts.  Do we ever wonder about the origin of blessings? Can blessings be spiritual and/or physical?  Who receives these blessings?  Are they all from God or Satan?  What should our attitudes be when we receive blessings?  Do all blessings have an appearance of positive-ness or are they sometimes hidden beneath negative situations?  Should we be content and keep the blessings we receive for ourselves or should we share them?   There are so many questions about blessings and we need answers.  This class will afford you the opportunity to search the scriptures and give you a broader outlook on the topic of physical and spiritual blessings.

Session 103

Blessings of Singleness and Marriage

1 Corinthians 7:32-34; Philippians 4:11; 1 Timothy 6:6

Lorie Bailey, Cedar Valley Church of Christ, Lancaster, TX

Are you single? Divorced by choice or circumstances?  Are you married?  Are you a widow? Do you sometimes feel like an outsider or that you don’t (fit in) or (can’t relate) or (find your place) with any group?  Whether you have been the recipient or the inflictor of cruel, insensitive remarks and attitudes, this class is designed to encourage and support each other while seeking peaceful solutions.  It will help you understand the burdens and dilemmas associated with each group.  When God is in control, the possibilities are limitless and work according to the Master’s will.  We are strengthened by HIS word.

Session 104

The Blessing of Forgiveness;

Seven X Seventy in a Day!

Matthew 18:21-22, Luke 6:37, Luke 17:4

Jeannette Gibbs,

Greenville Ave. Church of Christ, Richardson, TX

Someone once said, "to err is human, to forgive, divine."  Almost everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of another. These wounds can leave you with feelings of anger, bitterness or even vengeance.  Ceasing to feel resentment from wrongs and offenses is truly a divine act. The act that hurt or offended you might always remain a part of your life, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on you.  Forgiveness can help you focus on other positive parts of your life and prepare you to move forward.  Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you.  Forgiveness will give you peace, hope, gratitude and joy.  Consider how forgiveness can lead you down the path of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.  How many times should we forgive one another in a day?  Come to this class and be truly blessed as we examine the virtues of unlimited forgiveness.

Session 105

PATIENCE FOR MY BLESSINGS

James 5:7; Isaiah 40:31;

Betty Jefferson,

Graham St. Church of Christ, Waxahachie, TX

When we bring concerns to the Lord again and again, we grow tired of waiting.  Having prayed fervently about whatever issue we are facing too many times to count, it’s easy to feel our bank of patience is depleting.  It seems like our prayers are falling on deaf ears.  Often our desire is to take control and just “do the best we can.”  We know Galatians 5 lists patience as a fruit of the Holy Spirit.   How long is too long to wait for our change to come?  Are we ready to give up on waiting for God to bless us?  Do you realize the “Battle” is not ours?  This class will show us how to “STAND STILL” and let God do what He said He would do.  The Blessing is ours; learn to “Let Go and Let God.”

Session 201

Getting to know me! Am I a blessing?

(Pre-teen 9-12 and teens 13-16)

1 Thes. 5:5, Matt. 19:14

Vivian Foster-Blocker,

Eastside Church of Christ, Garland, TX

I am just a young lady trying to bring blessings to this world.  I love to sing and praise the Lord, but sometimes it gets really, really hard.  I want to be happy and to get along with others.   What is so special about me?  Can I be a better person than I am now?  I want to know so much more about myself, so that my life represents Jesus.  How can I learn to show others what I believe in and what I stand for?  I WANT TO BE A BLESSING.

Session 202

Too old for this, Too young for that!

Am I a blessing?

(Pre-teen 9-12 and teens 1-16)

Matthew 18:1-3, 3 John 1:4, Gal 3:26

Schwanda Robinson,

East Dallas Church of Christ, Dallas, TX

The vision that God has given and the things that He has planned, may not happen right away.  Many times it is presented in a way that we don’t understand.  Feeling mature physically, yet, immature spiritually, what am I to do?   What is my purpose at this time in my life?  I know that there has to be a special place for me.  As a Christian, I want to be a blessing to all.  I can work, give and be diligent for the Lord. This age is so complicated with school, a social life, and Church activities.  I need some guidance and directions to do the things that are appropriate for me at this age.  I WANT TO BE A BLESSING.
